Tube AU is a web video player audio unit plugin. The plugin user interface looks like an ordinary web browser, except that it is limited to viewing only YouTube, and that the audio stream is sent to the plugin output rather than going directly to the speaker. Notes: 1. This is an audio unit plugin only; it does not run as a stand-alone app. 2. This plugin requires the video to be open in order to play; it does not play in the background.

    I Didn’t Know I Needed This...

    When this first appeared on the App Store I saw a number of posts in social media about it so I picked it up on a whim. I didn’t really think I’d get much use out of it. I thought maybe I can use it to watch a tutorial for an app while I’m using that app. But then I discovered backing tracks videos. These videos have become a regular part of my practice routine so I’m using this app all the time now. This might be the most important app I have for practicing. I run it in parallel with an amp sim using all the plug-ins that I normally use for recording. I just run Tube AU in a separate bus within AUM. It’s a dream app I didn’t know I wanted or needed. As for crashes, the dev fixes problems very fast. Google is constantly changing things on YouTube so don’t let the previous reviews scare you off. It’s a quality app from a quality developer. I use many of their apps.

    Extremely buggy and crashes all the time

    I have a iPad mini 5 and trying to use this in BM3 is horrible. It constantly crashes no matter what video I try to play. I can probably get real lucky and play through 3 videos the most and it crashes. Your really just better of sampling from a external device than use this app. I hope they fix this because the idea of this working keeps me from deleting it.

    This apps price said 9.99 but when I purchased it charged me $16.98

    Crashing

    I use this app for playing guitar backingtracks while I Run AmpliTube on AUM and everything runs through a Focusrite 18i20 2nd gen as soundcard. Everything goes well, but sometimes this app stops working and the entire AUM stops working so I have to restart everything again. Could you check this? Thanks for reading

    One of my favorite AUV3s, but it’s very buggy...

    I love your stuff Dev, seriously. I’ve commented about the iFretless apps (which I really hope you will consider adding a mirror view to flip the order of the strings, it is a minor thing that works tremendously ameliorate the iFretless apps), and this one if another one of my huge faves. Also velocity KB. They are all killer apps that come with minor issues. My issue with tube AU? It’s hard to even load it - most of the times it won’t work on AUM or ApeMatrix. This didn’t use to be the case for me before but lately it’s just impossible to use, as soon as I fire up a video on it, it will crash the audio driver and I will be forced to restart my host. I am on iOS 12.4.1 - is this a known issue with my iOS? What can be done? I used to use this all the time, not just to actually sample stuff but to watch YouTube while I was working on patches (when you think about it, it’s a dope thing to do). I wish I could still do this but it’s easily been 2-3 weeks I haven’t been able to use it because it simply crashes 90% of the time. Please fix this :(

    This is the missing element in my setup. Thank you so much for this, it’s literally the most important 3rd party auv3 plug in I own.

    Only loads video 1 out of 5 times

    Not really worth the 10 bucks for a buggy broken function app. I like the idea idea of the app though.
