The magazine I've been waiting for
I've been waiting for this app ever since the Ipad was announced. This has been my favorite movie magazine for over two decades, and I'm very happy that I can now read it without having to spend an extortionate amount of Yen on the import print copy. So how is it? Well, for one its not just a scanned pdf version. This thing looks like its had some serious planning and design, I love the way the pages roll by, and then scroll down for detail. Very intuitive. I also like the embedded trailers and extra photography. Empire has always had some of the best production art / photography layout in this genre of magazine, and seeing here on the Ipad's backlit screen is truly something. My only problem with the app is this - at half a gig of space per issue, you can't exactly keep a large archive with you. The solution the app offers only in part solves this problem. I'd prefer a lite version option when archiving, and losing the heavy data that takes up space.
