Great App
It always annoyed me tht some apps, like Skype, access the camera without asking for permission. This app prevents that. It resides in the menubar where it is easy to activate and deactivate. It works great.
Lack of transparency
While the app does what it says and is pretty user friendly. There doesn’t seem to be much assurance from the developer over app transparency. Is the code open-source so anyone can check they aren’t actually spying? If you’re downloading this sort of software you want assurances that the app is not going to do the same thing that it is proposing to stop (i.e. intro. back doors, key logging, etc.) When they upgrade the transparency in this regard, I’d be happy to give them 5 stars.
Works well, except...
“Helper” menubar app is always using at least 1.8% of my processor power. Will give it a try sometime later and see if it’s less demanding. Meanwhile, I stuck a piece of transparent tape over the camera. That way my screen’s automatic brightness works but any video is all blurry.
