The front page of the app is mostly taken up with ads pushing you to get others of OUP’s products. Every time I open it I’m asked in an obnoxious pop up for a five star review. The visual style of the app is gallingly boxy and harsh. I’d expect more, Oxford! You’re developers clearly either fit the stereotype of the robotic analytic philosopher or are unconcerned with the inherent value of their work for the user.
Great reading, a couple drawbacks
I appreciate the prompts in the morning to random topics, which lead to brief summaries and links to other topics. I don't seem to be able to select text in the view to look up in the dictionary, run translation, save a quote, or make a note without copying the whole entry to the notes app. That seems to be a bug in the view, but otherwise it's good information and enjoyable reading.
Oxford kept their bargain
Initially I bought Webster’s Dictionary, but they didn’t keep their word. Oxford works very well, and they update on a regular basis.

This app serves it's fundamental purpose, but it lacks eremitic functioning such as: A Darkmode switcheroo, a font style editor, and a pronunciation button, among many other right-click features. As of right now it's basically a quick reference, although it can be more! Put that $9.99 to work Ox!
