Best typography generator app
OnPic review 7/21/16 I own pretty much every "typography generator" app you can find on the Apple App Store, and am pleasantly surprised to find OnPic that strives to be different and honored to be the first to write a review on it. For those who are not familiar with typography generator functionalities as opposed to those of a typography or text editor, each preset "style" is composed of a primary font type and sometimes a secondary, plus some decorative lines or flourishes, in a pre-designed layout. No matter how long or short your quotes or captions are, a typography generator app would automatically "generate" a layout for you, following its pre-programmed design rules. OnPic doesn't offer you decorative flourishes and variant font sizes within its preset default styles like others, but it does offer you most of the features that users of other typography generator apps have been crying for in their app reviews: - Punch color for words you want to pop out from the rest of the sentence - Shadow for both the text and the stickers - Letter and line spacing controls - Using Frame like a text box to set the width of your text - Left, center and right text alignments for your composition - Blur, brightness, contrast, saturation and hue controls for the background image - Hundreds of lines, shapes and line art stickers for you to decorate your "styles" - Shapes and banners to hold your quotes or captions, plus size, color and opacity controls for them - Layers for better design control and workflow - Best of all it, OnPic allows you to create your own custom style, or template as they call it. You custom style will be placed at the end of the style menu, and you can move it up to anywhere you like later. Overall, OnPic is a great app for power users or professional designers who want more control in designing the typography art exactly the way they envision it, without the constraints of the other typography generator apps, which are more for getting quick results or ideas for further iteration developments.
