Not free. “Free trial” gave me 3 wrong guesses and died

I found a bug that I had no idea what it was. It turns out that it originated from China. Then was identified in Eastern US in 1980’s and since spread throughout the America’s. The app ID’d it on the first pic.

I don’t leave reviews. Like ever. Pretty sure this is my very first one since the creation of smartphones. That’s how impressed I am with this app. I really wanted to give the developer the recognition they deserve. Here’s why I’m so extra impressed... let me tell you, I had a HORRIBLE experience recently. It all started with a weird smell in my master bathroom, (turns out it was from a dried plumbing tube -p trap. Who woulda thought. ) Anywho I got it fixed and a week later I see a couple flies in my bathroom. Big horse fly looking kind and then some smaller flies that you would consider to be your average housefly I guess. I fly swatted the couple I saw and figured it was maybe a random occurrence. Nope. Next day more and then more. I was completely disgusted and FREAKED OUT! I don’t do bugs. I’m the screaming girl that’s running from a butterfly. So yeah. I get the pest control company out and they were taken care of. I’m thinking life is maybe ok again right? Well it appeared so for about 2 days. Because next thing I know I’m in my bathroom and see what looks like an ant with wings crawling up the wall. “Freaking seriously”- I’m thinking. I wad up some toilet paper and proceed to push it on the bug like you would normally get an ant. But when I came back up this monster was perfectly fine. It’s like its body had a hard shell instead of your normal ant squishable one. I got it and flushed it but over the course of the next couple days these things were multiplying. I was officially disturbed. YALL....I GOOGLED FOR 2 DAYS to figure out what these were (while I waited on pest control appt (they didn’t consider my bug panic to be “an emergency” so I had to wait. I taped the bathroom shut lol). Anyway I had taken some pics and video with my phone and searched and searched the web. Termites and carpenter ants were all I kept getting back. And I consider myself a master googler. I usually end up finding my answers eventually. I could not find out this though. First time ever. Then pest control came and THEY DIDNT KNOW WHAT THESE WERE! They collected all the ones they could and put them in a ziplock to have an entomologist look and tell us what we were dealing with. The pest control person did say they looked like they were growing stingers though and seemed to be more in the wasp/bee family in their opinion. (Oh dear God it’s like a nightmare came true in my home. Mutant, undiscovered, stinging bugs would be in MY HOME. (You’d have to know my luck. So annoying). While I waited for pest control to get back to me I continued googling. I was on a mission dang it! Still no avail. Then I thought.... wait. “Maybe there’s an app for that”. I went to the App Store found this app and figured what the heck. YALL!!!!! After downloading the app, I uploaded 1 pic of these bugs I had taken. (And it wasn’t even that great of a pic. A bit blurry). The app on the first try - NAILED IT!!!!!! I knew it was accurate because (well the photos of this creature looked like my creatures) but also, when I read up about it it said they were parasitic wasps (gag). Apparently they lay their eggs inside flies via their stingers and the flies are still alive mind you. The flies make their way into your home, and when the eggs hatch inside of them, the wasps eat the fly from the inside out! OMGGGGH HORRIFIC I TELL YOU! I’ve Never ever wanted to burn down a house more in my life!!!! I wanted a priest and I needed sage to burn immediately! Ok so longest review/story ever but if you got this far - kudos to you! All of that was to explain how AWESOME this app is. If it can identify the spawns of satan that no pest control company had ever seen before then it should be legit the most helpful bug identifying app of all of your needs. Look no further! This is your bug app! Thank you developer(s)! You’re awesome!!

App support takes you to website without valid certificate, and 2-3 lines of Chinese characters displayed. The developers do this intentionally, each and every time they look to boost their revenue stream. The app isn’t the problem—not making enough money is their problem

Free App has zero functionality without a subscription. Sure once I hand over my payment info there’s a 3 day trial, but it’s disingenuous to label an app “free” and then charge for ANY functionality at all.

The app works fine, but you only have three days or else you need to purchase it.
