Not the same as Firefox addon
This is an extreme downgrade from what is offered in the Firefox addon. Basically, it is as useless as Safari itself.
Allowed Many Cookies to be Placed
I installed DuckDuckGo thinking it would provide me with some protection. And what it did was the exact opposite. It kept 45 cookies on my Mac. This is after I closed Safari, and reopened it. Then I checked. An easier fix is to delete your CACHE and history. Gone. And then reload DuckDuckGo. But you will have to do this frequently. It only takes 15 seconds so I do not mind. Developer responded: and they said that DukDuckGo does not delete cookies. I had thought that was the purpose to make my internet viewing safer and deleting cookies between session was one of the things that make a difference. Do it my way and it is easier to control who gets to see what in your browser history.

I feel like I have more privacy using Duck Duck Go than I do using Chrome. Thanks Apple!
Privacy focused like Apple
I love this search engine! I wish them and Apple would team up to become the default search engine for Apple! I just found you can actually change that. haha. Anyway, I love the option to not have to use Google and get tracked across the internet by them.

Ghostery used to be the go to. Well I've Ghosted them and now use DuckDuckGo. Wow. Blocks everything. LOVE it.
