Lockdown Causes a DNS Leak
I am not sure what is going on but when the lockdown firewall (only) is enabled, my DNS leaks. I tested this with multiple VPNs. Maybe the developer has so,mething to say about it. I tested with ProtonVPN, Mullvad and ExpressVPN.
Conflicts with VPN
In order for the firewall to work, a VPN configuration must be set up. It cannot be used in conjunction with one.
I can't use this program
I don't know why this program would be attempting to contact websites without your knowledge if its job is to keep other programs from accessing the web. I have another firewall program running with this one and this program is constantly asking to connect to other sites. It doesn't tell you what program it is asking on behalf of. I was suprised I could get it running while using a vpn. It will not work on the iphone...well, it will but it'll knock the vpn down as if its vpn is operating but its not; that's an upgraded feature. This doesn't work for me.

New problems
Original: Drains my battery constantly ("energy impact" in activity monitor is typically around 6-7) Update: Lockdown is now down to an energy impact of 0 when it isn't doing anything, which is a huge difference. On another note, I would like to support the developers, but there is no way to donate on the website as far as I can tell. Update 2: Lockdown seems to be preventing libreoffice from checking for updates. This makes me not want to use lockdown becuase of the potential security risk of not keeping applications up to date.
OK... but high CPU Load
Works as advertised, but requires around 5% CPU on a brand-new 15" 2016 MBP - when deactivated. Also conflicts with existing VPN setups (without using their VPN), both private and commercial (which is a feature rather than a bug, but still). Sitting this one out for a while. On the Mac that is. Works just fine on iOS and iPadOS.
Battery Antagonist
I have the same issue as another reviewer - it burns through the battery, big time - even when the computer is sleeping. We need an app like this that blocks ads and trackers across all apps, not just in the browser; but for now the battery problem makes it a nonstarter. It works pretty well on my iPhone, so I'm keeping it and hoping for an update that fixes the power drain. If that happens, it'll get at least another star (or maybe two).
