Changes to The Great Courses
I signed up during the trail period and watched some amazing videos. I paid for the year subscription then one day found I could no longer access the content. The app on Roku and my devices are not even there. I called my credit card co and got the number to contact them directly. The Great Courses Plus is now WONDRIUM. I’m not thrilled with the way the content is arranged but I was reassured that everything from the former app is still available, as well as additional content at no additional charge.
Wonderful courses; lousy app
While I have enjoyed the Great Courses fir a number of years, trying to use their app is one of the most frustrating and annoying experiences. It is enormously difficult to download a course (you must do it lecture by lecture, rather than having an option to download the entire thing) and I end up having to hit the download icon on average a dozen times to get the darn thing to download. I think they assume most everyone will be listening or watching where there’s wifi. But many listen when driving or exercising where they must download the lectures first — and it is a complete nuisance.
Best learning app.
Wide variety of subjects and very good professors for anyone who wants to expand their horizon. Started with course on brain and never looked back.
Good content but audio and video not in synch
The video gets out of synch with the video by about 5 seconds. This defect makes watching slightly unpleasant. The content is good, but harder to watch than the DVD distribution of the course. The problem occurs on both the courses I have watched. Developer - please fix problem !
This app is buggy and not user friendly
When I try to use the app my previously downloaded lectures do not appear. I cannot access them. I’ve had to delete and redownload the app several times. Any of my courses I’ve purchased just appear blank when I try to listen to them. Also when I use the search function all it ever does is show my every course I have. It doesn’t actually...search. There’s also no easy way to just view what lectures are currently downloaded rather than EVERY course you have, with “recent downloads” just listed first. I love the great courses but I’d actually like to be able to listen to them...
Audio and video out of sync
The courses are great and so is the app except for the one big flaw that the audio and video constantly get out of sync. I have to close and open the app to get it to work, for awhile, and then gets out of sync again. The last update was a year ago. Time for another one, please.
