The easiest, cheapest and most advanced way to track your %SS (Percentage of stuttered syllables). The Disfluency Index Counter app allows Speech and Language Therapists to perform a live count of the number of fluent or disfluent syllables. This application comes with two styles of counters: A simple and an advanced counter. The simple version of the Disfluency Index Counter uses two simple buttons that record the amount of times the SLP pushes the buttons. There is an "F" button for a Fluency Syllable & and a "D" button for a disfluent/stuttered syllable. A live track of the total number of syllables recorded is shown on the main screen as well as the number of fluent and disfluent syllables/words entered. Once you are finished with your data collection you press "Done" to see the results. Disfluency Index Counter provides the following results: 1. Total number of words/syllables: 2. Number of fluent words/syllables: 3. Number of disfluent words/syllables: 4. The percentage of fluent words/syllables: 4. The percentage of disfluent words/syllables. The advanced counter allows therapists to specifically identify the types of disfluencies exhibited by the client. The SLP can choose from Block, Prolongation or Repetition. Speech Therapists can easily e-mail or print the results to themselves. It saves you time and makes figuring out the % of stuttered syllables a lot easier- we do it for you!
So far, so good!
Pediatric SLP (preschool and lower elementary). I just found this app and really like it! I have used it while listening to recordings, and really like the "report" given at the end. I wish I could email the report in the colorful format as well as the black and white. I like that I can use the simple or advanced format, the email capability, and the ability to send results to the Therapy Center app.
Doesn't let you add clients from the therapy report center.
I just purchased to track data on my fluency clients. It doesn't have a way to import students from your therapy center report, as promised. Very disappointed. Please fix ASAP. False advertising!
Great...but...
I really think this app is great, but please allow the user to input the client's name. Right now there is no way to determine progress from past data and current data, not even with the TRC. I have several fluency clients and this additional information would be invaluable. Thank you for great apps and for your consideration in this matter.
Disappointed
Disappointed in app given price. For $8.99 the app should have more capabilities. For example, the ability to do an audio recording while using the application. I hope the developer plans to make some updates to the app or reduce the price significantly.
Speech Pathology
This app has been extremely helpful during stuttering therapy! I can keep track of the child's dysfluencies much easier and feel that it gives me good data to review progress!
No record--Misleading!!
The description says "live track of..syllables..recorded is shown on main screen as well as number of fluent & disfluent syllables/words"....they make it sound like your getting to record client's speech as well as see the #of SS. That is TOTALLY misleading. You're paying $9 for a glorified tally system...that has NO reliability opportunities for the clinician. SO not worth the money...Especially if you have several CWS/PWS on caseload.
It's so easy!
This app is SO easy to use. It enables me to give parents a stuttering severity on the spot, which, I think, makes me look great! It is ingeniously simple. Love it!
