This app saved me in Beijing. Don't know how to talk to the cashier or waiter? Listen to how to say things a few times right before you walk into the door or up to the register ~ need to talk to the taxi driver but don't know how? Show him what you're trying to say. I love the apps from this developer. They've given me a great base in several languages. It's worth getting the payed version if you're traveling around China. It adds more sentences/vocabulary to each category. But the free version is fantastic.
