Which is why I’m giving Deadline 5 Stars - so, in other words, he’s a Five-Star kind of a guy. I love his interviews, which are rich, tuned in and knowledgeable not only with above-the-line, but also with talented crew members who come together like an orchestra to create their visual symphony. There’s something very special about being on a crew and seeing a film come to life. I hope we will weather the changes necessitated by the pandemic to revive this collaborative art form. There’s nothing like it.

Minutes after downloading and opening the app the second story leads to Error 404: Page not found There are articles from months ago at the top. Not sure what the bug is, but not very promising

Notifications instead of emails
Please make it possible to just receive notifications through the app instead of getting emails. I’m getting 30 emails a day, and it’s just too much. I wouldn’t mind getting so many if they were just notifications from the app. The other consequence of receiving emails is that, if I want to read the story, tapping the link opens my browser, so I’m not drawn to the app, and as a consequence, I almost never use it.
Decent App with annoying ads
I’m happy to have a Deadline app to read on the go. I’m even fine with having advertisement. But the ads are often intrusive, cover navigation, or need to be dismissed by a tiny “x” in order to get the navigation to work. Stop. Even without the ads the app navigation disappears and sometimes it takes several attempts to get it to come back. Not sure if it’s intentionally meant to work this way or if it’s a bug. Either way, it’s annoying as well.
